My Guiding Principles in ELA
Discover the core beliefs that shape Mrs. Young's English Language Arts classroom, fostering effective learning and student growth.

How students learn best in ELA
I believe that students learn best in English Language Arts when instruction is clear and structured, relevant to their experiences, and interactive and engaging. By providing a well-organized learning path, connecting lessons to their world, and encouraging active participation, students can deeply understand and apply ELA concepts.

My unique teaching approach
As an educator, I believe that effective teaching is built on the balance between structure, engagement, and responsiveness to student needs. In the English Language Arts classroom, students should not only learn essential reading and writing skills but also develop the ability to think critically and express themselves clearly.

Goals for every ELA student
In my classroom, I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable taking academic risks. I recognize that all students learn differently, so I strive to incorporate a variety of instructional strategies, including direct instruction, collaborative activities, and independent practice.
I also value the importance of building strong relationships with students. When students feel respected and understood, they are more likely to engage in learning and take ownership of their progress. Ultimately, my goal is to help students become confident readers, thoughtful writers, and active participants in their own learning.
